Mural featuring the heads and shoulders of hundreds of women from history

Join us in celebrating 120 incredible women through ‘Work in Progress,’ a vibrant mural by Jann Haworth, Liberty Blake and communities across the UK.

Celebrating 120 incredible women from history and today, Work in Progress is a 7-panel mural commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery. Artists Jann Haworth and Liberty Blake worked in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery’s curatorial team and with communities across the UK. Through a series of workshops led by the artists, community members chose a woman to represent, which was then added to the final work.

We are delighted that members of our very own Community Programme have contributed their fantastic works to this important piece.

We will display a high-quality copy of the mural in our Garden Gallery. The original mural will be on display in the National Portrait Gallery’s permanent collection.
