Buy Tickets >Inspired by the wonderful seascapes and boats of Cornish artist Alfred Wallis – come and use your imagination to create your own vessel, of any kind, to sail the sea! From fishing boats and pirate ships to fantastical floating creations, there is no limit to where your imagination can take you.
Beginning by exploring Wallis’s bold and expressive paintings, we will look at how he captured the movement and character of ships at sea. Copying the techniques of the artist, children will use recycled materials to construct their own freestanding vessel, experimenting with shape, colour, pattern and texture to bring their ideas to life.
As they build, participants will imagine where their vessel has come from and where it might be heading. The finished artworks will stand proudly on display, ready to sail across imagined oceans and embark on exciting new journeys. The fleet of vessels will then be photographed all together.
Our Easter Art Club is a series of studio workshops for children, exploring a range of media in a fun and friendly environment. These workshops are led by experienced artist educators who specialise in working with children and young people. They are designed for children aged 7+.
Parents or carers are not required to stay for these workshops, although you are welcome to do so should you prefer.
Please provide a packed lunch for your child.
There are 3 sessions to choose from. Pay £25 per session or get £2.50 off each workshop (10%) when you book 2 or more sessions. Just add your selected workshops to the basket and the discount will be applied at checkout.
