Buy Tickets >Inspired by Alfred Wallis and bustling seaside harbours such as St Ives, children will create a colourful mixed-media map of a coastal town in this workshop. Using layers of textured papers to represent the sand, sea and harbour walls, they will build up a unique landscape filled with cut-out houses, boats and people.
As their harbour takes shape, participants will invent the community that lives there. What are their names? What jobs do they do? From fishermen and lighthouse keepers to shop owners and sailors, children will work together to imagine the lives and stories of the people who call the harbour home.
The group will create a collective story inspired by their maps, bringing their coastal community to life through characters, adventures and everyday happenings.
A creative workshop combining collage, storytelling and imaginative world-building, inspired by the rich character and community of Cornwall’s historic fishing harbours.
