Create your own festive prints in this hands-on workshop with artist Helen Friend exploring lino cut techniques.
Drawing inspiration from vintage Christmas illustrations, seasonal flora and decorative objects, you’ll design and carve a unique print block for cards, labels and wrapping paper.
You’ll learn how to transfer your design onto lino, use specialist cutting tools to create a range of marks and hand-print your block onto prepared papers. The session will also introduce Chine collé techniques to add colour and layering to your designs.
By the end of the workshop, you will have a collection of hand-printed festive materials to take home, along with your lino block for future use. Participants are welcome to bring their own Christmas imagery for inspiration.
