Walk of the Dandelion Day | Drop-in Weaving Workshop
11am–2pm
Free
[ Children )
Join us for this drop-in weaving workshop, suitable for all ages.
Led by artist educator Laura Buckle, take part in two unique weaving activities inspired by our exhibition Path through Trees and artist Haroun Hayward’s approach to combining textiles and imagery.
Create your own woven piece to take home using recycled fabrics, coloured card, ribbons, and foraged natural materials. You can also contribute to a large-scale communal artwork on a striking loom structure made from scaffolding – helping transform materials that might otherwise end up in landfill into a shared creative piece.
This free drop-in workshop is part of Chichester’s Walk of the Dandelion Day.

Laura Buckle
Laura Buckle (AKA Flora Bucket) is an artist, researcher, educator, and activist focused on the global textile industry, especially its waste and environmental impact.
Her work explores how this huge, complex system connects to issues like class and environmental damage. By breaking down and reworking textile waste, she questions the systems behind it and highlights those responsible for harm and inequality.
As a working-class, eco-focused artist, Buckle aims to raise awareness about the climate crisis and encourage action. Her work often involves communities, sparking conversation and pushing for change, while exploring creative, sustainable ways to protect the environment.
She completed an MA in Art and Ecology at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her research now centres on textiles, with a focus on recycling, waste, and the ethics of what happens to materials after we’re done with them.
