Barbara Hepworth and Greece
[ Exhibition )
Barbara Hepworth and Greece explores the little-known story of how a journey through Greece and its islands in 1954 transformed one of Britain’s most celebrated artists. Bringing together major sculptures, paintings, drawings and prints alongside extracts from Hepworth’s diary, the exhibition reveals how Greece’s radiant light, ancient architecture and dramatic landscapes shaped her work, featuring exceptional loans including Curved Form (Delphi) (1955) and Pierced Form (Santorin) (1963), exhibited publicly for the first time.
