How many guests can I bring in with me?
You can take in as many guests as your membership type allows.
Friend and Young Friend admits one person
Friend Plus Guest admits two people
Joint Friends admits two people
Joint Friends Plus Two Guests admits four people, the two named people on the cards plus two guests. One cardholder can bring two guests.
If you need to check your membership type, it is printed on your card or simply log in to your account to find out.
How many children can I bring with me?
Children have free entry to the Gallery so you can bring as many as you wish.
The primary membership on a Joint Friends Membership will be the person whose bank details are used to pay for the subscription.
Your Friends Card
I have lost my card, what should I do?
Visit the Welcome Desk in the Gallery and a new card will be issued to you. Alternatively email us or call +44 (0)1243 770816.
Can I lend my Friends card to someone else?
We ask you to please not lend your card to someone else. Income from admissions and the Friends is vital to the Gallery. You could consider giving a Gift Membership to someone who would appreciate it. Thank you.
Renewing your Friend Membership
There are several ways to renew your membership (if you pay by Direct Debit, your membership will renew automatically):
Renew online via your account and click on the ‘Renew’ button. Please note, online renewal only becomes available one month before your membership expires.
Call the Friends office on +44 (0)1243 770816 / 774557.
Renew in the Gallery at the Welcome Desk.
I have a Direct Debit renewal. Do I need to renew my membership online?
If you have a Direct Debit in place for your Friend Membership you do not need to renew online, this will happen automatically. However, we are phasing out Direct Debit payments so please call the Friends office on +44 (0)1243 770816 to transfer to the new system.
Can I buy a Gift Membership online?
Yes, simply select Gift Membership once you have chosen the level of membership you want to give.
Can I have a Gift Membership sent direct to the recipient?
When purchasing a Gift Membership a voucher will be sent to the recipient by email which will allow them to join the Friends online.
How do I renew my Gift Membership?
Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to renew a Gift Membership online. Once the Gift Membership has been set up by the recipient, they can renew if they wish.
Visiting the Gallery
Do I need to book tickets in advance?
No. Friends have free entry to the Gallery and do not need to book in advance. Please go to the Welcome Desk on arrival to get your entrance tickets.
Can I join the Friends having bought an admission ticket and have this refunded?
Yes. On the day of your entrance to the Gallery, if you join the Friends we will refund the value of your ticket purchased. If you join as a Friend, only one ticket will be refundable. If you join as Joint Friends, two tickets will be refundable.
Do I need to book tickets for Friends only events and Gallery events?
Yes, unless the event says otherwise.
You’ll need to register an email address if you wish to book online. Log in to your account if you wish to add or change your email address.
What events do I save 10% on?
You save 10% on all events. However if there is a multi-booking option where you save on booking a number of linked events, no further discount applies.
Tell me about the Friends Private Views
The Friends Private Views are your exclusive first viewing of our major exhibitions. You will be invited to these events through our email bulletin for Friends. Please make sure you have given us your email address and consented to be on the mailing list. These are held three times a year.
Accessing my Friends Membership online
Click ‘Log In’ in the top right hand corner of your screen.
Click ‘Reset Password’ and type the email address associated with your membership. If we don’t have an email address for you, you will need to contact the Friends Office on +44 (0) 1243 770816 / 774557. You will need an email address to access your online account.
You will immediately receive an automated email containing a link to reset your password.
The link will take you to a page where you can reset your password.
