Inspired by the tinsel pictures of Dora Carrington, this workshop will be a fascinating exploration in painting on glass, creating your own depiction of a myth or legend as a finished piece. You will learn about working on glass, including the application of a range of techniques such as guilding, scraffito and masking.
You can expect to learn more about the translucent aspects of different mediums and their reflective qualities and how to work effectively with these.
By the end of your workshop, you will have developed a better understanding of the construction of Dora Carrington’s work and will have created your own finished piece to take away.
We ask that you attend the workshop in comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting messy.

Karen is a multi media artist who specialises in glass , Karen is known for her garden pieces following successful showing at RHS Chelsea and Hampton Court ,Karen works with many media , including printmaking and jewellery making.Colour always plays an important part in her work , the emotional response to the different colour combinations, and as an ex dancer movement is a constant inspiration too.
