Linocut & Still Life Abstraction

This event has passed.

Create your own lino cut prints inspired by the Shape of Things with Richenda Court.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or new to the world of printmaking, this workshop offers an enriching learning experience for all.

The day kicks off with an insightful outline by Richenda, where she’ll guide you through the process of creating a jigsaw linocut.

Next, embark on a journey through the Shape of Things: Still Life in Britain exhibition, where Richenda will lead the group in exploring abstract works for inspiration. Let the artwork fuel your imagination as you gather ideas for your own linocut print design.

Back in the studio, it’s time to bring your vision to life. Drawing from objects, images, and the exhibition itself, you’ll begin planning your linocut block under Richenda’s expert guidance. With your design finalized, Richenda will assist you in safely making the initial cuts to your block, setting the stage for the creative process ahead.

Richenda will be bringing vinyl alternatives to lino for those with reduced mobility or arthritis to use the tools more easily. It is a softer more accessible material.

As the afternoon unfolds, you’ll dive into cutting the lino, shaping your design with precision and care. With each cut, your vision will take form, culminating in a series of prints that showcase your unique artistic style.
