Get inspired by our collection!

This two hour workshop is designed for children aged 7-11 (Key Stage 2) in Home Education, to explore the Gallery and create an artwork in the Studio with a parent or guardian.

The artwork in focus is Barbara Hepworth’s Single Form (Nocturne).

What to expect?

On arrival, your group will be welcomed to the Gallery by a member of our learning team. We will help participants settle in by providing a brief introduction to the Gallery and an outline of their visit. This will be followed by an introduction to our collection with opportunities for observation, sketching and thought provoking discussion, all based around the theme Places and Spaces.

Inspired by what they’ve seen, we head back down to the studio for a creative session with one of our experienced artist educators. We will explore the artwork Single Form (Nocturne) in a hands-on way, using a range of appropriate materials to generate individual works of art which participants can take back home. We will provide all of the art materials.
