Join curator Ian Collins for his introduction to the exhibition John Craxton: A Modern Odyssey.
Ian Collins, John Craxton’s award-winning biographer, will reveal how the life of an artist adventurer was mirrored in his work. We will be taken on a voyage from wartime darkness to Aegean light – following a heroic hedonist as he journeys into joyful colour.
Tickets cost £15 (13.50 for Friends) and include a glass of wine or a soft drink.

Speaker bio - Ian Collins
Ian Collins is a writer and curator. He has written monographs on Rose Hilton, Joan Leigh Femor and John McLean and has worked with the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven, the British Museum in London, the Sainsbury Centre in Norwich, the Benaki Museum in Athens, the A.G. Leventis Gallery in Nicosia and Mesher Istanbul. His book John Craxton: A Life of Gifts (Yale University Press) won the 2022 Runciman Award. He lives in England and Greece.
