Immerse yourself in a day of creativity and exploration with artist Helen Friend as your guide. Discover the vibrant cityscape of Chichester through observational drawing, storytelling, and shared experiences.

Our journey begins at the Gallery, where Helen will kickstart the day with a warm-up sketching session. Equipped with a portable drawing kit provided by us, including a sketchbook and pens, you’ll embark on a guided tour of Chichester’s historical landmarks and picturesque locales.

From the 18th-century Queen Anne townhouse that houses the gallery to charming city spots, Helen will offer insights and anecdotes to enrich your sketches. At each stop, you’ll have the chance to capture architectural details, landscapes, and people, guided by Helen’s expert instruction.

After a mid-morning break to enjoy your packed lunch, we’ll continue our artistic journey, exploring new angles and perspectives to enhance your work. Finally, we’ll return to the Gallery to share our experiences and sketches, fostering creativity and camaraderie.

Please note that this workshop involves walking and standing for three hours, with designated rest areas and mapped-out public toilets along the route. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, a hat, water, a packed lunch, and comfortable walking shoes.

Tickets are £35, with a special price of £31.50 for Pallant House Gallery friends. Don’t miss this opportunity to unlock your artistic potential and connect with Chichester’s rich heritage.
