Workshop: Self Reflection inspired by Grayson Perry (12-15yrs)
[ Workshop )
In his piece for the Model Art Gallery, National Treasure, Grayson Perry has created a self-portrait on miniature vase.
In this workshop, each of us will create our own, self-expressive piece. Using templates and cut outs, we will create our own mixed media, 2D vase design that can be embellished, drawn back into and collaged. At the end of the day, you will leave at the end of the day with a unique and personal artwork.
Materials: We will provide materials. Bring photographs, or photocopies of photographs, old artworks, images/ items that define your personality. Sophia will prepare a simple brief to be sent to participants prior to the workshop.
The workshop is run by Sophia Gray. Sophia has a BA in Printed Textiles from Winchester School of Art. She works with a versatile and organic drawing style combined with an eccentric take on digital print, which has granted her with numerous opportunities to work in the textile industry and exhibit Sophia’s work at Première Vision, Paris.
