Ceramic Tiles Online Workshop

Design and carve four of your own ceramic tiles using the sgraffito technique! This 2 hour online workshop will provide you with an introduction and all the materials to experiment with clay.

Sgraffito is a form of decoration made by scratching the surface of the clay to reveal a contrasting colour.

3pm-5pm

Please note booking for this workshop closes on 29 August (so that we have time to mail out your materials)

Our online workshops will be delivered via Zoom. You will need an internet device with webcam in order to take part. Prior to the workshop please ensure you have registered for a free Zoom account here.

Your ticket includes an art materials pack that we will send to you in the post before the workshop, which will contain:

4 handmade clay tiles prepared with a coloured decorating slip ready to be decorated
Sgraffito tool
Brush
Sketchbook

You will also need to provide the following:

Ruler or other straight edge
Small container to catch and dispose of dry clay
Clothes you don’t mind getting messy

Iona is a Potter, artist, facilitator (and member of Pallant House Gallery’s visitor services team). Iona’s art practice is inspired by everyday objects being converted into ceramic artworks, she has been a member of Partners in Art at Pallant House Gallery and has exhibited in the studios.
