Join our curators and special guest speaker Colin Wiggins for a new series of thought-provoking art history lectures at Pallant House Gallery.
This season, we turn our attention to the genres of art, from the grand traditions of history painting and portraiture to the quiet beauty of landscape and still life. Drawing inspiration from our exhibition programme, including William Nicholson and Caroline Walker: Mothering, each session explores how artists across the centuries have engaged with and redefined these classic forms.
Surrounded by world-class artworks, you’ll gain fresh insight into how these genres reflect the changing ideas, values and everyday lives of their times.
Each session runs from 10.30am to 1pm and includes two engaging lectures with opportunities for questions and discussion, plus a refreshment break (refreshments included). Your ticket also includes entry to our galleries and exhibitions on the day.
Please bring anything you would like to make notes with and let us know when booking of any special dietary or access requirements.
Sessions can be booked individually for £45, or join us for the full series of three at the discounted price of £125. Booking will be available soon.
