Women and Art | Breaking the Canvas Ceiling
[ Art History Course )
A fresh take on art from the female perspective, looking at the women artists and collectors who strove to bring equality to the art world
Why do we know of so few female artists pre-1900? Why are so few of their works on view?
Female artists have struggled for centuries in the face of prejudice and inequality to have their work taken seriously and to reach their present position in the 21st century.
This lecture will explore their struggle and the changing status of women artists in the modern world.
