Our curator Louise Weller reappraises the work of Walter Nessler from the late 1930s onward.

Walter Nessler emigrated to Britain in the 1930s after being denounced as a ‘degenerate’ by the Nazis. This curator’s talk will explore the breadth of Nessler’s artistic achievements, from his foreboding wartime cityscapes to his exuberant postwar paintings.
