How did continental influences affect the way English artists, including John Constable, JMW Turner and Ivon Hitchens, represent our ‘green and pleasant land’?

A freelance art lecturer, Colin Wiggins was Special Projects Curator at the National Gallery, where he had special responsibility for the Associate Artist scheme, working with artists such as Paula Rego, Peter Blake, Ana Maria Pacheco and Michael Landy. He also curated exhibitions for artists such as Frank Auerbach, Anthony Caro, RB Kitaj, and Bridget Riley. Colin curated ‘Sea Star’, the current exhibition at the National Gallery of new work by Sean Scully responding to Turner.
