Printmaking [11+ years)
[ Children )
Explore the art of etching, using Ivon Hitchens’s colourful landscapes as the inspiration for a series of bold prints.
We will begin by visiting the Ivon Hitchens exhibition to gather inspiration for our prints, making sketches as we go. Back in the Studio, we will create a drypoint etching plate and experiment with different methods of mark making and colour to produce our own unique designs.
10.30am – 3.30pm
All workshops take place in the Gallery and are led by professional artist educators. Please drop your children off in time to start at 10.30am and pick up at 3.30pm. In some cases, the workshop leader may invite you to return slightly earlier to see a presentation by the workshop participants. Children will stay in the Gallery all day.
All equipment will be provided and materials are included in the ticket price but please provide a packed lunch for your child*. Lunchbreaks will be supervised by Gallery staff.
Advance booking is essential. If you’re under 18, tickets must be booked in advance by a parent or guardian.
*The Gallery café offers a lunch option for your children. Our chefs will prepare your child’s lunchbox during the morning activities and have it ready for their lunch break. All packed lunches are £5 each and must be pre-ordered on the morning of the workshop from the café counter on the ground floor.
