Join us for a week of free activities.

Drop in all week for fun activities, trails, and make your own animal inspired ‘Roman’ standard.

The Romans used standards – a pennant attached to a staff or pole – to identify their military legions. Each legion was represented by an animal, such as eagles, boars and wolves. Tracey Emin’s Roman Standard, which can be seen in our Courtyard Garden, reinterprets this military symbol into a small songbird.

Be inspired by Emin and the animal-themed works in our Print Room exhibition Drawn to Nature: Gilbert White and the Artists to create your own twist on the Roman Standard.
