Pallant House Gallery has a particularly good collection of British Pop Art including iconic works such as Peter Blake’s ‘1962 Beatles’ and Richard Hamilton’s ‘Swingeing London.’ The tour explores Pop Art and its roots from the Independent Group in the 1950s to the art and culture of the 'Swinging Sixties' including artists such as Blake, Patrick Caulfield, Hamilton, Eduardo Paolozzi, R.B. Kitaj and Colin Self. It explores the Pop artists’ interests such as celebrity and popular culture, new art materials and techniques and political protest.
