Pallant House Gallery’s critically-acclaimed ‘Surreal Friends’ season draws into its closing week with a special 60s style ‘happening’ - ‘De Pelos or ‘The House of Fear’ - featuring music, sound, light and smell – and even a horse on Wednesday 8 September.
Inspired by the work of the Mexican writer Juan Rolfo, the FREE evening event will be a fittingly surreal finale to the Gallery's summer-long tribute to the movement which has taken the form of six major international exhibitions and displays and over forty events.
To mark the event, the Gallery's usual closing time of 5pm will be extended to 8pm on Wednesday 8 September, and admission to the Gallery will be dropped to half price. Visitors are invited to take advantage of the extra opportunity to explore the Surreal Friends exhibitions, before the free happening in the courtyard at 8pm.
Other highlights on Wednesday include the popular ‘Happy Hour' from 7-8pm which has been running on Thursday evenings throughout the summer. Visitors can claim a free tequila with an admission or event ticket courtesy of exhibition sponsors, the Mexican Tourist Board.
