Pallant House Gallery reached the target of raising £1million towards its Heritage Lottery Fund Catalyst Endowment Match-Funding Appeal thanks to the generosity of its many supporters. This money was matched pound-for-pound by the Heritage Lottery Fund and paid into the Gallery’s Endowment Fund, the income from which supports the Gallery’s ongoing programmes.
We were delighted that the Gallery’s Catalyst Endowment Fund Appeal was shortlisted in the category of Best Individual Giving Campaign for the Institute of Fundraising National Fundraising Awards 2016. These are the only accolades in the sector that recognise and reward fundraising excellence and best practice and we were honoured to have been shortlisted.
The Gallery established an Endowment Fund in 2002 to generate an annual income and sustain the long-term future of the Gallery. The capital, which cannot be touched, currently stands at ca. £10m. Having a secure funding base ensures the Gallery is able to continue to deliver its successful exhibitions and award-winning Learning and Community programmes, and conserve the nationally and internationally important Collections.
We would like to thank all the individuals, organisations and trusts and foundations who so generously supported this appeal since 2012. In addition, we would like to thank Sotheby’s and Toovey’s who supported fundraising auctions in November 2015 and all the artists who generously donated artworks for those auctions.
The Gallery is continuing to fundraise to build up its endowment fund to support core activities and support its future exhibition programme.
