The discipline of drawing in Western Art has been inextricably linked to representing the human figure. Inspired by Leon Underwood’s revolutionary approach to life drawing this free exhibition selected from the Pallant House Gallery collection explores how a range of modern and historic artists depicted the human form, tracing the representation of the body in art from the classical ideal to realist figure studies by Édouard Manet and Walter Sickert and life drawings by Eric Gill, Michael Andrews, William Coldstream, Peter de Francia and Frank Auerbach.
